When we allow temptation to lure us into sin, and let that sin subsequently take up residence in our heart, we must recognize that God’s mercy is still at work to bring us to repentance back to Him. Ultimately God will expose the sin, but it is our responsibility to respond: to recognize our sin, confess it, and repent. God is rich in mercy, and He desires to pour out His grace upon us. When we come before the Lord with a broken spirit and a contrite heart, confess our sins before Him, and allow the Lord to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, grace abounds, and the door for Him to work in our lives opens wide.
