We know the illegal trial, brutal torture, and execution of Jesus to be historical fact, not a morality play. The details of those events are given to us to show the extent of the love that God has for us. The observance of these most important of days is to keep us mindful. The empty cross and the empty tomb are central to our Christian faith, but the result has to be exaltation of God the Father, Son and Spirit in word and in deed.
